Group Requiremets

Group requirements

  • Each team may have a maximum of 14 members with a minimum of 3 and maximum of 8 vocalists

  • Each member may join only one group within this CB

  • You may have as many staff members as you want, but you must not exceed the limit of 14 members in a group

  • Group members who double as vocalist + staff will only take up one member slot

  • Staff members include:

    • Artists, mixers, animators, composers, scripters, harmonists, etc. (anyone who contributes to your entry in any way)

  • Members from eliminated teams are allowed to join new teams in later rounds

  • Anonymous groups are allowed, so long as the organisers are aware of your real aliases

  • All members must have a valid social media account with which they can be credited

  • Each group must name two members as their points of contact: one team leader, and one secondary leader (in case the team leader is unreachable)

  • Once your registration has been processed, your team leader will be given a link to your group's locker - this is a folder containing your team's items and score sheets

  • Non-human team members [eg. Vocaloids, UTAUs, etc.] are not allowed​​

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements

  • Entries must be between 1:30 and 7:00 minutes

  • Songs chosen can be in any language, but please make sure to provide English lyrics regardless of which language you sing in

    • Songs can be in any genre

    • Translyrics, original songs, and remixes are all allowed

  • Please be aware of copyrighted content - if your entry is inaccessible it cannot be judged

Submission Guidelines:

  • All round videos should be titled as: 【KNRCB-V#】Song Title【Group Name】​

  • You must fill in the submission form in order to officially submit your entry for each round

    • Submission forms will become available from 1 week before the round deadline​ on the theme page of the round, as well as on the CB Twitter

  • For all round entries you must provide:

    • Theme interpretation

    • Script

    • English translation, if applicable [either as subtitles or captions in the video, or linked in the description]

    • Alternative video link

    • Link to the mix & a capella

    • Link to a folder containing all art assets

    • Appropriate crediting for all internal and external assets

    • Time-stamped list of bonus promps that have been incorporated​

Promo Guidelines:

  • Teams have the option to make promo videos in order to get a small bonus for the CB

    • Promos are entirely optional and will have no impact on the final score of your team​

  • Promo videos should be titled as: 【KNRCB-V0】Title【Group Name】

  • All teams that submit a promo by the promo deadline will get 2 bonuses:

    • You will get the theme and bonus prompt list for ​R1 one week early

    • You will get 5 bonus meal tickets before the start of R1 - if you wish you may use these tickets in the Student Store to get a 3 hour grace period pass, or you may save your points to be used in a later round

  • In order to get your bonuses you must submit your promo using the Promo Submission Form by March 28th 23:59 GMT

    • The form will be available on the theme page, as well the CB Twitter from the start of the registration period

    • If teams miss the promo deadline but would still like to make a promo video they will not get the bonuses but they can send us the link and we can add their promo to the playlist!

Bonuses & Passes

Bonus Points & Student Store

  • Every round teams will get the opportunity to gain bonus points (referred to as meal ticketswith their entries through incorporating the bonus prompts

    • These prompts are optional, and teams can choose which (if any) prompts they'd like to include in their entries from the lists provided

  • There will be 2 lists of bonus prompts each round: common prompts and round specific prompts

  • Common prompts will be relevant every round, however teams may only use each prompt from this list once throughout the CB

    • This means if you have done a common prompt in R1, you will not gain points for doing the same prompt in R2​ (however, if you still want to incorporate the prompt regardless of points then feel free!)

  • Prompts can be incorporated anywhere in your entry in any form (audio, video, lyrics, etc)

  • You will be required to provide timestamps for where you included the prompt in your entries

  • Meal tickets will be capped at 5 points per round (but you’re free to incorporate more if you want)

  • You can convert your bonus points into a currency to use in the Student Store​​

  • Teams can use their bonus points to obtain member passes and grace period passes

    • Member passes allow you to either replace one member of your team with another, or add an extra member to your team as long as you have not hit the member limit - they will be listed in the school store as types of buns

    • Grace period passes allow teams to be exempt from grace deductions for the first 3, 6, or 8 hours (depending on which pass you have) - they will be listed in the school store as types of milk, ramune, and mochi​

  • Upon registration, teams will be given a free member pass and 3 free meal tickets which they may use in the student store

  • Scoring will be split into 5 categories which total to 155 points

    • Vocals (35)​

  • Your scoresheet will look something like this

  • Bonus points will be added to the final score

  • Incomplete videos will receive a percentage deduction

  • Teams can choose which categories (if any) to get critiqued for each round​​

    • In R1 teams can choose 1 category​

    • In R2 teams can choose up to 2 categories

    • In R3 teams can choose up to all 4 categories

 

Organisers'/Judges' Choice Bonus:

  • Every round the organisers and judging teams can choose their favourite entries to award extra meal tickets to​​

    • Each organiser and each judging team can award 2 bonus points to their top entry

    • These points will be added to the team's final scores and can be used in the School Store in relevant rounds

Grace Period

Grace Period

There will be a grace period of 24 hours after the deadline for each round in which teams can still submit their entries

  • 1.5 points will be deducted every hour for the first 12 hours, and 2 points will be deducted for every hour during the last 12 hours

  • If you run into unexpected render trouble and your video ends up unable to finish rendering before the end of grace period you may still submit your entry so long as you send an image of your render screen to the CB organisers (however please note that you will still be deducted the full grace period penalty)

Exceptional Circumstances

 

  • If teams come across any unexpected circumstances that are out of your control [such as natural disasters, blackouts, fires, etc.] that may cause them to miss the deadlines, they can DM the CB twitter and discuss the issue with the organisers to try and find an acceptable solution

  • Please be aware that the CB organisers will require you to provide sufficient proof of your situation

Crediting & Plagiarism

Crediting & Plagiarism

  • All internal and external assets should be credited appropriately

  • External assets include:

    • Background/prop images not drawn by the team members

    • Overlays and stock images

    • Any other assets [eg. sound effects, fonts, plugins] made by creators who require credit for use of their work

  • The CB organisers will be checking through the external assets thoroughly and may ask teams about the sources of specific elements if they are not clearly stated

  • Please make sure you provide the correct source links for your assets and check that you have clear permission to use them

  • Websites such as wallpaper websites, pinterest, and weheartit do not count as valid source links unless these websites directly link back to the original source of the asset

  • Failure to provide appropriate crediting will result in a deduction of 1.5 points per asset

  • If your entry very heavily references other chorus/CB videos you may lose points for creativity in your scoring
